NEVER underestimate the problems of the gums. Therefore, a disease affecting almost half of Americans this is coming trigger heart problems.

As reported by MSN, Tuesday (22/12/09), the medical team treating patients with symptoms of the gums and doctors who deal with cardiac patients in cooperation with one message: dealing with a disease can help others avoid them.

Last year, the major journals that discuss heart disease and periodontal journals simultaneously published a consensus that describes the relationship between the two diseases. This cooperation urged the two doctors from different backgrounds to see the body as a whole, rather than an integral part.

“The contents of this theory, if you have some inflammation in one part of the body, it will destroy other parts of the body, whether the heart, gums, or anything else,” said David Cochran, DDS, former president of the American Academy of Periodontology is also Professor of the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, San Antonio.

The study also showed that regular exercise and stress reduction therapies have anti-inflammatory effects. In addition to sports, of course, regular dental examinations. Eating certain foods also help you protect the gums and the heart.

Well, so you can take care of oral health, examines the following EatingWell good food for gums and the heart.

Raisins

Maybe you’re thinking, sweet raisins and sticky is not good for oral health. But, a study cited EatingWell prove otherwise. Antioxidants in raisins fight the growth of various types of bacteria that cause inflammation and gum disease.

Green tea

The researchers report findings related routines consume green tea. Research carried out recently to find facts, hard-working Japanese men drinking green tea significantly the risk of gum disease decreases.

The researchers believe that antioxidants in green tea called catechins is the key. Catechins inhibit the body’s inflammatory response to bacteria that cause gum disease.

Wheat

Dihelat study American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that men who ate four or more times to consume grain-based foods, the risk of periodontal disease decreased by 23 percent.

“When compared with simple carbohydrates (white rice, bread, noodles), wheat-based foods (oatmel and red rice) is digested more slowly your body. In fact, simple carbohydrates potent in raising blood glucose, “said study leader, Anwar Merchant DMD ScD, who is also epidemiological University of South Carolina.

Avoid spikes in blood sugar production, it means reducing the risk of gum disease and heart disease.

Stop smoking tobacco is not easy. From the number of smokers who tried, known to many who fail. That’s not because smokers do not want to “retire” early, but the nicotine trap KEPAYANG make them intoxicated. But they are actually aware of the threat of cancer, heart attacks, impotence, or interruption of pregnancy.

One of the winners quit smoking program “Quitters Are the Champions” – which held Stop Smoking Clinic General Hospital and Pfizer Friendship – Henny Gunawan, felt an acute addiction to cigarettes is so strong. Mother of three children was in fact have not been able to enjoy tobacco again. “But I have no power off,” Henny said in Jakarta last week.

Henny, 46 years old, has 30 years of smoking. Within a day, on average he spends 20 cigarettes. Type of cigarettes he smoked his brand switching. But now successfully removed Henny addiction. He made it through three months without tobacco. During that time he was guided by a pulmonary specialist and psychiatric specialists. “I nonnikotin medication twice a day,” said the woman who was also married to a smoker.

According to medical specialists soul General Hospital Friendship Center, Dr. T. Tribowo Ginting, SpKJ – which led Henny – the first week of the program was found to be a lot of complaints because the participants face the nicotine withdrawal symptoms. There are psychological effects that arise, such as decreased concentration, fatigue, and sleep problems.

However, Tribowo said, these effects usually disappear within one or two weeks. “It’s just the body adaptation mechanisms,” he said in a discussion Tribowo cigarettes in Jakarta some time ago.

Indeed, suddenly out of cigarettes, according to Tribowo, still leads to the suggestion in the smoker. Sometimes the suggestion that there are now former smokers view cigarettes or asbaknya. Especially if the environment is not conducive, in the sense of many smokers. “It can evoke memories of cigarettes.” In addition, psychological Tribowo see these smokers feel inferior if you do not smoke.

Such suggestions are usually survive long enough. To bury it, take nonnikotin drug therapy combined with counseling. Specifically, the drug was working nonnikotin on nicotine receptors in the brain. These drugs reduce the symptoms indicated aka Craving addiction and substance withdrawa or broken. “This includes reducing the pleasure of smoking,” explained Tribowo.

To foster self-confidence, Tribowo emphasize the positive value to the participants quit smoking. It is diverting their minds to realize that the habit can damage health. Beyond that, which is also important is the support of people around. At the very least, they could help by getting rid of something that smells of cigarettes, such as ashtrays, posters or cigarette lighter.

But it must be remembered that a judge should not support people who want to repent from it sakau tobacco. If the opposite, according to Tribowo, had made the intention to stop smoking so failed.

Program “Quitters Are the Champions” was held in September-November 2009. Of 210 applicants, 23 people selected for the program. And in the end 18 of whom managed to quit smoking. This of course is still very small compared to the number of active smokers in Jakarta, which reaches 3 million people or 35 percent of the population that reached more than 9 million people.

In the clinic to stop smoking RSUP Friendship, the venue for this program, the average patient was male. Ratio of about three to one by women. The clinic used the method to stop the total and gradual method. So far, according to Tribowo, which effectively is a direct method to stop the total. “A lot of program participants ‘quitter’ successful use (method) is,” said Tribowo. The oldest patient in this hospital’s aged 50 years, while the youngest age of 20 years.

On the same occasion, Dr Agus Dwi Susanto, SpP, lung specialist who is also Vice Chairman of the Stop Smoking Clinic RSUP Friendship, said the study proves that this program could be eliminated smoking with medical therapy. Although, the study showed that 70 percent of people who intend to quit smoking, only 5-10 percent that can do it without help.

Another example of a successful quit smoking in this program is Yadi Mulyadi. This guy is 25 years old hyperactive type smokers. He could spend three packs of cigarettes per day. Ironically, Yadi was a nurse. This he dedicated his success to his wife. “Without a cigarette, feels more comfortable life,” he said.

When Smokers Stop Smoking
- Twenty minutes after quitting. Heart rate and blood pressure decreases.
- Twelve hours after quitting. Carbon monoxide level in blood drops to normal.
- Two weeks to three months after quitting. There are increasing circulation and lung function increases.
- One to nine months after quitting. Cough and shortness of breath decrease. Cilia – the fine hairs that move mucus out of sweeping the lungs – return to normal operation. Cilia’s ability increases, the lungs are clean and decreases the risk of infection.
- One year after quitting. Risk of coronary heart disease was reduced to half than active smokers.
- Five years after quitting. Reduced risk of stroke 5-10 years after quitting.
- Ten years after quitting. The risk of lung cancer, mouth, throat, bladder, cervix, and pancreas, so declined.

In the study showed a high risk to pregnant women and new mothers who give birth in hospital with flu pigs.

Pregnant mothers who gave birth in two weeks or less in the high risk of severe flu complications. Swine flu becomes a threat to pregnant women after a well-documented, and public health officials urging them to get vaccinated.

A previous study showed that pregnant women infected with the virus are more likely to be hospitalized and face greater risk of death than other public patients. The new report released Wednesday by the New England Journal of Medicine, is the first to see the risks for the woman who had just given birth and highlights the continued high risk after pregnancy.

The results of the study makes Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently revised guidelines, which recommend the flu drug given to women who show signs of flu soon after their birth.

This study was conducted by the California Department of Public Health and the CDC. California is the nation’s most populous, which has conducted surveillance H1N1 disease since 2009. The study involved 94 pregnant women and eight new mothers who were hospitalized during the first four months of a pandemic before a vaccine is available, in October.

Most of these pregnant women in second or third trimester, when the risk of flu complications believed to be the highest. Many otherwise healthy and go to the hospital with mild symptoms such as fever or cough, but their health rapidly declined.

The researchers estimate that the swine flu killed more than four pregnant women per 100,000 live births in California. Pandemic has proven to be deadly for pregnant women. And death from childbirth are quite rare in the United States. One of the most common cause of excessive bleeding.

“This is not unusual in that infectious diseases can increase overall mortality,” said Dr. Denise Jamieson from the CDC, which became part of this research.

Beginnings and mission of the Program

For more than last thirty and especially since his move to Israel in 1982, Gustavo Perednik has been teaching in many countries. His vast educational activity abroad was carried out under the auspices of the Hebrew University, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Keren Hayesod, the World Jewish Congress, the World Zionist Organization, Joint, and others.
In order to give a more organized framework to his trips and lectures, the Program for Jewish Education and Information on the Jew’s Role was launched on August 21, 2000 (during the B’nai B’rith Convention in Panama.) The Program was born with the support of the Yehoshua and Haya Gilinski Foundation and is now under the auspices of the Hadar Foundation.
The Program consists in training youths and layleaders, and in lecturing at universities, communities, schools and cultural centers, both for Jews and non-Jews. The aim of the Program is to explain the role of the Jew in various areas of human civilization.
Between 2000 and 2006 our Program offered more than one thousand lectures in one hundred towns of fifty countries, on topics that connect Judaism to Modernity.
Since 2003, all our activities in China are dealt with separately under The Ai Tian Program for Jewish Understanding in China.
Our website was visited by more than 200,000 people. Since the majority of our activities are in Spanish, most of our website is in Spanish.

Heart diseases lurking indiscriminate people from all walks of age. Weight factor, high blood pressure, smoking, and exercise are lazy triggering factor.

Despite the deadly disease, many people seem to ignore the importance of maintaining healthy to avoid the risk of heart disease affected.

In fact, according to the American Heart Association, as many as 59 percent of Americans are reluctant to exercise that can improve the ability to breathe while keeping the stability of the heart.

“It should be noted is the amount of weight and waist circumference that you have. These two risk trigger other health problems is cholesterol and diabetes, “say Dr Donald M Lloyd Jones as chairman of the committee Heart Association Statistics (Heart Association Statistics). Excess weight will be a trigger heart problems.

“This modern food has more calories, and we do not do anything to burn calories in the body,” added Jones, who also serves as a staff cardiologist at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine this. Data in the year 2003-2006 showed, at least 11.3 percent of children and adolescents have a body mass index excess to their age.

Of course, this situation is not good, considering adolescent overweight has a 70 percent chance of becoming obese as adults later. Thus, preventive measures must be done, especially for the young. Jones argues, this is a long-term problems to be solved. Do not let young people realize the importance of health care when they stepped on the head five.

The problem, controlling the amount of cholesterol into the body is an act that many people still ignored if seen from the statistics of the Statistics Agency of the Heart and Stroke disorder in 2010. Few of Americans who suffer from heart problems to get treatment to reduce fat levels.

Moreover, only a few patients who do care and are able to achieve the target reduction in LDL cholesterol levels. LDL is the bad cholesterol that when the amount of excess in the blood will be deposited on the walls of blood vessels to form clots that can clog arteries.

“People who suffer from obesity, lazy exercise, and smoking is an easy target this disease. Surprisingly, many young people who turn a blind eye to this, “said Dr. Clyde W. Yancy, president and director of Baylor Heart and Vascular Institute in Dallas. He added another thing to note is to keep blood pressure so high not also be the risk of heart disease.

Stressed Yancy, smokers have a higher risk of heart disease as much as two to three times greater than those who do not smoke. People who eat their cigar or pipe smoking, seems to have a risk of heart problems is higher than cigarette smokers who consume white. However, this type of smokers actually have a level of risk of heart disease lower.

High cholesterol levels also trigger the disease. If the blood cholesterol levels increased, so did the risk of heart problems. Coupled with smoking, the risk is higher. Cholesterol levels are also influenced by age, sex, heredity, and diet.

Meanwhile, high blood pressure makes the heart become thickened and stiff. This is then continued at the risk of stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and heart failure. Another factor that causes this disease is a lazy exercise appears. In fact, physical activity can keep cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of diabetes, and obesity.

People who have excess weight, especially those who have a large waist circumference. Excess weight increases the blood pressure and cholesterol levels, while lowering levels of good cholesterol or HDL cholesterol for your body. HDL has a clear function of blood vessels from excessive LDL cholesterol.

HDL cholesterol levels high is a good sign as long as LDL cholesterol less than 150 mg / dl. Furthermore, obesity or being overweight can make the development of diabetes.

Many obese people claim it difficult to lose weight. However, only by eliminating 10 pounds be able to help prevent the risk of heart disease. Yancy continued, patterns of unhealthy living, obesity, and smoking among young people now, certainly would increase the number of heart patients. He also hoped in the year 2020, by 20 percent of deaths caused by heart disease and stroke could be reduced.
